The Integrated Placement and Support (IPS) Employment Project
After the challenge of shutting down for two years due to the pandemic, the Integrated Placement and Support (IPS) program is now back up and running. Because there is clear evidence that having a job is clearly beneficial for sustaining mental health recovery, the IPS program focuses on helping clients find interest-based work and then provides ongoing supports to ensure success.
Prior to the pandemic, the program collaborated with Averte, a residential therapeutic program supporting adults with schizophrenia and related mental health issues. The newly reopened program is again working with Averte, and currently has a full roster of clients. Each receives assistance with resume writing, exploring available job opportunities, applying for positions, and interviewing.
Since 1993, clients from 26 states/regions and 7 countries outside the US have benefitted from the IPS methodology of providing supports. The program we have been funding in New Hampshire served 33 individuals between 2017 and 2020, and added an additional 8 served this past year.
